Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a specialized therapeutic modality designed to alleviate distress associated with traumatic memories. This approach involves guided bilateral stimulation, typically through eye movements, to help individuals process and reframe traumatic experiences, allowing for the integration of more adaptive and positive associations. EMDR has been widely recognized for its effectiveness in treating conditions such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and various anxiety disorders.

Psychodynamic therapy is an insight-oriented approach that explores the unconscious processes and patterns influencing thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Rooted in psychoanalytic principles, psychodynamic therapy emphasizes self-awareness and understanding the impact of early life experiences on current emotional well-being. Therapists work collaboratively with clients to uncover and process deep-seated issues, fostering personal growth and helping individuals develop healthier coping mechanisms for navigating life's challenges.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a comprehensive and evidence-based therapeutic modality originally developed for individuals with borderline personality disorder. DBT combines cognitive-behavioral techniques with mindfulness strategies, emphasizing the acceptance of emotions while simultaneously working towards behavioral change. This approach equips individuals with skills to manage distress, regulate emotions, improve interpersonal effectiveness, and cultivate a greater sense of self-awareness, making it particularly effective for those facing challenges related to emotion dysregulation and interpersonal difficulties.

Play therapy is a therapeutic approach primarily designed for children, utilizing play as a means of communication and expression. Therapists leverage toys, games, and creative activities to help children explore and process their emotions, experiences, and concerns in a safe and supportive environment. I primarily use this approach when clients have difficulty de-stressing or vocalizing themselves. Although this approach was founded in order to facilitate and engage children, I've found it's principles to be effective in working with any person having difficulty with social skills.

Individual Tele-Therapy
In individual therapy, our journey begins with a thorough formal assessment to gain a deep understanding of you and your unique challenges. I'll offer psychoeducation on my therapeutic approaches, and together, we'll collaboratively create a personalized treatment plan. Typically, we'll meet weekly, however if deemed appropriate we can conduct sessions bi-weekly or occasionally three times a week when justified by medical necessity, especially in crisis situations.
Video Game Therapy

I have been offering video game therapy since my time in graduate school. This unique service has proven effective in supporting individuals who have found solace in playing video games. It has successfully addressed various barriers, including social anxiety, addiction, disruptive behavior, or those who prefer non-traditional therapeutic methods. In addition this service has yielded great results in children diagnosed with Autism.

Family Therapy

Ecological Family-Based Therapy (EFBT) approach offers a comprehensive lens on family dynamics, examining internal and external layers. I consider cultural, racial, academic, and financial factors, recognizing the interconnectedness of various influences. Our sessions will involve the immediate family members and if appropriate I may inquire about consulting with with School Counselors, Coaches, and Peers. This holistic perspective ensures a nuanced understanding of family challenges and incorporates broader socio-cultural contexts for effective, collaborative interventions.
